Their little master piece ended with a fluid one foot step sequence that earned a level two and a delightful choreographic lift. December 7th, 2019 The third day of competition at the Grand Prix Final for the Junior skaters began with the Pairs Free Skating. After a handful of near misses, as they were third in 2018 and second in 2017, Apollinariia Panfilova/ Dmitry Rylov (RUS) topped the Grand Prix Final podium and become the new champions, taking the baton up from Anastasia Mishina/ Aleksandr Galliamov (RUS). Although their routine was not clean, they held on to the first place to achieve their first gold. Diana Mukhametzianova/ Ilya Mironov (RUS) rules in the free portion and obtained the best score of the segment, jumping to the second place overall to clinch the silver in their debut at the Final. They completed a wonderful first season at the Junior Grand Prix Series, remaining only 0,86 points off the first place. Kseniia Akhanteva/ Valerii Kolesov (RUS) had a few glitches in their free routine but stayed strong to secure the bronze medal in their second Grand Prix Final. Iuliia Artemeva/ Mikhail Nazarychev (RUS), who delivered the third-best program of the free skating, jumped to the fourth place and missed the podium by just 1,12 points. Apollinariia Panfilova/ Dmitry Rylov (RUS) showed off a tender routine to “No One Ever Called Me That” (from “Third Person” soundtrack) highlighted by their high-quality elements and a beautiful expression. They opened the program with an amazing triple twist and hit a double Axel-euler-double Salchow combination, an incredible throw triple flip and two spectacular level-four lifts. They also managed a level four for the death spiral and the spin but she doubled the side by side triple Salchow and fell on the throw triple loop. They were second in the free portion at 116,43 points but held on to the first place on 185,23 points. They scored 65,07 points, just short of their personal record, and are sitted in the fourth place.
