Alexandra Trusova (RUS) conquered her second consecutive gold at the World Junior Championship, edging her teammate Anna Shchernakova in the Free Skating (RUS). Both ladies land quads in their routines, but Trusova executed three quads and two was succesful. Ting Cui (USA) stayed strong to earn the bronze. March 9th, 2019 Alexandra Trusova (RUS) continues makins history in figure skating. Last year she she became the first lady to land two quads in a Free Skating (a quad Salchow and a quad toe) at the World Junior Championships and took the title. One year later, Trusova won again the crown of World Junior Champion and included three quads in her program. She failed on the quad Lutz attempt (underrotated) but hit the other two. She's just 14 years old but she has written a extraordinary page in the figure skating history. Her teammate Anna Shcherbakova (RUS) also land a quad jump in her excellent routine but remained in the second place, winning her first medal, a silver, at the World Junior Championships. Unaware of the quads battle, Ting Cui (USA) stayed strong to secure the bronze medal delivering an exquisite program. Kseniia Sinitsyna (RUS) remained in the fourth place as Yuna Shiraiwa (JPN) jumped to the fifth place. Alexandra Trusova (RUS) was once again on the spotlights but she skated confident as she wasn't under pressure. She put on a formidable routine to "The Fifth Element" soundtrack, carrying the crowd into her program right out of the gate with a captivating choreography. Then she went directly to the first jump, a quad Lutz. She fell and the jump was underrotated, but she continued unfazed to land a wonderful quad toe in combination with triple toe and another excellent quad toe. She also nailed a double Axel and a triple Lutz-euler-triple Salchow and landed a triple Lutz-triple loop and a triple flip (not clear edge). She collected a level four for her amazing spins and the great step sequence to score 150.40 points in the Free Skating and 222.89 overall, that guide her into the first place. Both scores are a new world record set by a record lady. Anna Shcherbakova (RUS) also rose to the occasion and turned in a magical and superb routine to "Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso" by Camille Saint-Saens. She opened with a quad Lutz full rotated, but she struggled in the landing. She went on to land a triple flip-triple loop and two great double Axel. In the second half of the routine she hit a triple Lutz-triple toe, a triple flip-euler-triple Salchow and a triple Lutz. Her beautiful and elastic spins merited a level four and the step sequence was graded a level three. She achived two new season's best for herself with 147.08 points in the Free portion and 219.94 overall, slipping from first to second by just 2.95 points. Ting Cui (USA) was the first American lady to earn a medal at the World Junior Championships in seven years, since the silver achieved by Gracie Gold in 2012. The 16-year-old skater produced an exquisite program to "Giselle", by Adolphe Adam and nailed four triples and two fantastic double Axel. One of her strong jumps was the triple Lutz-triple toe combination as well as the excellent triple Lutz and triple loop in the second half. She only struggled with the triple flip-euler-triple Salchow combination due to a not clear edge and had a fall in the triple flip (underrotated), her last jump. Her beautiful step sequence merited a level four as well as two spins. She scored 126.72 points for the Free segment and 194.41 points overall. Kseniia Sinitsyna (RUS) stood in the fourth place at 188.84 points although she obtained the sixth-best score of the Free portion. She nailed a triple Lutz-triple toe combination, a triple Lutz-double toe-double loop and a triple Salchow and received a level four for her wonderful spins. She moved on one spot to finish fifth overall at 185.46 points. Young You (KOR) rose from eleventh to sixth at 178.82 points overall. She delivered an awesome program "Pirates of the Caribbean" soundtrack with a delightful choreography. She aced a triple Lutz-triple toe, triple Lutz-double toe-double loop in the second half as well as three more clean triples and two leve-four spins. Her only glitch was an underrotated triple flip. Hanna Harrell (USA) remained ninth in the Free segment and dropped from fifth to seventh overall at 176.69 points. Haein Lee (KOR) surged from 14th to eighth place with 171.97 points as Yuhana Yokoi (JPN) emerged from 18th to ninth place on 170.17 points. They stayed strong in their way to the title after the lead they had taken in the Rhythm Dance and become the second Canadian ice dance couple to win the World Junior title. Only Tessa Virtue/ Scott Moir had won a gold before. The silver went to Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/ Nikita Nazarov (RUS), who finished fourth in the Free Dance but stood in the second place. Sofia Shevchenko/ Igor Eremenko (RUS) earned the bronze medal as Avonley Nguyen/ Vadym Kolesnik (USA), who achieved the third-best score of the segment, remained 2.53 points off the podium. Their one foot step sequence merited a level two for both and the midline step sequence was graded a level two. They surpassed their previous season's best with 105.96 points for the Free Dance and 176.10 points overall. Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/ Nikita Nazarov (RUS) turned in a smooth dance to "Human" and "Nememis". They picked up a level four for a beautiful stationary lift and an excellent straight line lift that opened their routine. They executed a confident level-four twizzles and also received a level four for the combination spin, as the circular step sequence merited a level three and the one foot step sequence was graded a level two. They scored 102.53 points to be fourth in the Free segment, but remained second overall at 171.22 points in what was their debut at the World Junior Championships. All the scores they registered at the World Junior Championship were their season's best. Sofia Shevchenko/ Igor Eremenko (RUS) delivered an excellent dance which merited the second-best score of the Free Dance at 102.87 points, but stood in third overall with 170.43 points. The bronze medal they earned is their first medal at the Junior Worlds as they were fifth last season. They mesmerized in their Free Dance with a strong starting and collected a level two for the beautiful one foot step sequence and a level four for the fast and wonderful twizzles and the combination spin. The choreographic step sequence reflected perfectly the character of the second piece of music, "Whitchdoctor", by Camo & Krooked, more dynamic. Then the music changed to a fluid and emotional rhythm and Shevchenko/ Eremenko ended with two level-four lifts and the diagonal step sequence that was graded a level two. Avonley Nguyen/ Vadym Kolesnik (USA) moved on one spot and finished fourth at 167.90 points, a new season's best for themselves. They received the third-best score of the Free Dance with 102.72 points after a touching and smooth routine. Dancing to "Demons" cover by Boyce Avenue and "Experience", by Ludovico Einaudi, their dance featured a exquisite level-four lifts, a excellent choreography and a confident twizzles sequence, which garnered a level four. They also collected a level four for the spin and a level two for the circular step sequence as the one foot step sequence received a level three for her and a level two for his partner. Arina Ushakova/ Maxim Nekrasov (RUS) slipped from fourth to fifth on 166.48 points overall. They turned in an innovative and energetic dance to "Black Cat, White Cat", by Goran Bregovic, highlighted by the solid level-four twizzles, a wonderful combination spin and two thrilling lifts. Their choreograpy fitted perfectly with the music and they executed excellent and original choreo elements. March 8th, 2019 Tomoki Hiwatashi (USA) is the new World Junior Figure Skating Champion. The 19-year-old skater took up the torch from Alexey Erokhov (RUS), who won the gold last season. The silver went to Roman Savosin (RUS), who climbed from sixth to second with the best score of the Free Skating. Daniel Grassl (ITA) was the fourth on the Free portion but remained third overall to achieve the bronze. It's the second consecutive bronze medal for Italy at the World Junior Championships after the third place taken by Matteo Rizzo last year. He collected a level four for all the spins and a level three for the step sequence. Hiwatashi obtained 148.82 points and was second in the Free portion, but jumped from first overall at 230.32 points. Roman Savosin (RUS) delivered a smooth and confident routine to "Piano Concerto No2", performed by David Garrett. He nailed a quad toe but put a hand down to avoid the fall on the quad Salchow. The triple Axel in the combination with triple toe was underrotated as well as the solo triple Axel and a triple loop, but he landed successfully a triple Lutz-triple toe and a great double Axel-euler-triple Salchow. He also picked up a level four for the combination spin to register the best score of the Free Skating at 150.95 points and a new season's best for himself. He totaled 230.32 points, also a personal best score this season, and rose from sixth to second overall. Daniel Grassl (ITA) fought throughout his program to "Dance Pieces", by Philipp Glass to retain the third place. He crashed on the quad Lutz attempt (underrotated) and struggled with the quad loop, also underrotated, but hit a triple Axel, a triple Lutz-triple toe combination and another triple Lutz. He collected all level fours for his original spins and the wonderful step sequence and was fourth in the Free segment at 143.48 points but remained third overall on 224.67 points. He aced a triple Axel-triple toe combination, another triple Axel, a double Axel, a fantastic triple flip-euler-triple Salchow and a triple loop-doble toe. Stephen Gogolev (CAN) achieved the third-best score of the Free Skating at 143.66 points and moved on five spots to finish in the fifth place with 220.66 points. He doubled a planed quad Lutz in the opening, but then nailed a quad toe and a quad Salchow in combination with triple toe. He crashed badly on the triple Axel and hurt his leg, but went on to land a somewhat shaky triple Axel-double toe, a fantastic triple Lutz-euler-triple Salchow and a nice triple loop. Adam Siao Him Fa (FRA) jumped from eighth to sixth at 219.91 points. His routine featured a quad toe in combination with a somewhat shaky triple toe, a triple Axel, a correct quad Salchow and a great triple Lutz- euler- double Salchow, but he stepped out of the quad toe and had a one-point deduction for time violation. Irakli Maysuradze (GEO) hit a quad toe and four excellet triples to climb from eleventh to seventh on 217.78 points. Camden Pulkinen (USA) faded to first to eighth with 216.68 points as he made many mistakes and had a two-points deduction for time violation. March 8th, 2019 The Ladies event started this Friday at the World Junior Championships in Zagreb, were the younger skaters showed their high quality and a great level. 46 ladies competed in the Short Program, but only the best 24 advanced to the final. In this tight competition, Anna Shcherbakova (RUS) set a high bar and took the lead by just 0.35 points ahead of her teammate Alexandra Trusova (RUS). Ting Cui (USA) follows in the third place and Kseniia Sinitsyna stands in fourth only 1.17 points behind the American skater. Anna Shcherbakova (RUS) delivered a smooth and excellent program to "A comme amour", by Richard Clayderman. Seemingly effortlessly, the 14-year-old skater reeled off a double Axel, a triple flip and an excellent triple Lutz-triple toe in the second half of the routine. She picked up a level four for their ellegant spins and a level three for a sweet step sequence. Her flawless routine was awarded 72.86 points, just short of her season's best score. Alexandra Trusova (RUS) came so close in the second place. Skating to "Kill Bill" soundtrack, the 14-year-old skater nailed a wonderful double Axel, an excellent triple flip and a great triple Lutz-triple toe combination in the second half of the program. She also collected a level four for their amazing spins and a level three for the step sequence. She obtained 72.49 points, which is not her personal best score this season. Ting Cui (USA) delivered a deligthful routine to "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini", by Sergei Rachmaninov. She hit a double Axel, a strong combination triple Lutz-triple toe and a beautiful triple flip near to the end. Their great step sequence and two spins merited a level four and she received 67.69 points to round the top-3. Kseniia Sinitsyna (RUS) remained off the podium by just 1.17 points and stands in the fourth place. She executed a grea triple flip, a beautiful double Axel and a solid triple Lutz-triple toe combination as well as three leve-four spins. She obtained 66.52 points. Hanna Harrell (USA) achieve the fifth-best score of the Short Program after a great routine to "Bla Bla Bla Cha Cha Cha", by Petty Booka. She produced a great triple Lutz-triple toe, a double Axel and a triple flip and picked up a level four for the the step sequence and one spin, posting a new personal best score at 62.68 points. Yuna Shiraiwa (JPN), a pre-competition favorite to the medals, hit a triple Lutz-triple toe combination and a beautiful doble Axel, but struggled with the combination spin, which merited only a level one, and her triple flip was underrotated. She obtained 62.08 points to be sixth. Anna Kuzmenko (FRA) finished in the seventh place at 59.20 points after a confident skating as Lucrezia Beccari (ITA) nailed her program and remained eighth on 57.70 points. La patinadora española realizó una fantástica actuación en el programa corto en su estreno en la gran competición internacional junior. Marián acabó en la trigésimo-novena posición en una competición femenina de gran nivel. 8 de marzo, 2019 Marián Millares dejó muy buenas sensaciones en su estreno mundialista este viernes. La patinadora de La Nevera acabó en la trigésimo-novena posición, con 39.35 puntos. No es su mejor marca de la temporada, aunque la puntuación y la clasificación final no reflejan fielmente la que fue una excelente actuación de Marián Millares. Al compás de "La Malagueña", Marián comenzaba su actuación con una sólida combinación triple toe-doble toe. Continuaba después con un bonito doble Axel, que recibió una ligera penalización por parte del panel técnico, y la pirueta camel, de nivel dos. Mostrando su desparpajo y una gran expresividad al ritmo de la música, Marián realizó una fantástica pirueta techo, valorada de nivel tres, y la secuencia de pasos, de nivel dos. Culminó su actuación con un precioso doble flip y la pirueta combinada con cambio de pie, de nivel tres. Marián hizo gala de fluidez y elegancia en su programa, una excelente base sobre la que seguir creciendo. La patinadora de 14 años completó un buen debut en el Campeonato del Mundo Junior, dejando a siete patinadoras por detrás de ella y quedándose a poco más de seis puntos del acceso a la final. De las cuarenta y seis patinadoras que participan en el evento, sólo veinticuatro han logrado el acceso a la siguiente fase y lo han hecho con una diferencia de puntos pequeña con respecto a las patinadoras situadas bajo la línea de corte. Una prueba del alto nivel del Mundial. Anna Shcherbakova (RUS) y Alexandra Trusova (RUS) marcaron la diferencia en los puestos de cabeza y lideran la clasificación tras el programa corto. March 7th, 2019 Anastasia Mishina/ Aleksandr Galliamov (RUS) surprised in the Pairs Free Skating and climbed to the first place after an excellent performance. They edged Apollinariia Panfilova/ Dmitry Rylov (RUS) by just 0.57 points and overcame overnight leaders Polina Kostiukovich/ Dmitrii Ialin, who remained in the third place. Feiyao Tang/ Yongchao Yang (CHN) stood in the fourth place, followed by Sarah Feng/ TJ Nyman (USA). Anastasia Mishina/ Aleksandr Galliamov (RUS) are the new World Junior Figure Skating Champions. They collected all level fours for their amazing lifts, the death spiral and the pair spin. Their only glitch came when she fell on the back end of the triple Salchow-euler-triple Salchow combination. They obtained 121.72 points for the Free Skating and 188.74 points, not their season's best scores but enough to overcome their teammates and win the title. Apollinariia Panfilova/ Dmitry Rylov (RUS) turned in a delightful and sweet program to "Charms", from W.E. soundtrack. They executed a huge triple twist, a beautiful side by side double loop and a great throw triple loop, but they struggled on the double Axel- euler (downgraded)- double Salchow combination. In the second half of their routine they executed a wonderful throw triple flip. They collected a level four for the excellent and original lifts and for the pair spin, as the death spiral merited a level three. They were second in the Free segment at 120.26 points and stood in second overall at 188.17 points to won the silver. Polina Kostiukovich/ Dmitrii Ialin (RUS) delivered an original and enthrailling routine skating to a selection from "Cirque du Soleil" and "Xotica: Journey to the Heart". They opened with a formidable triple twist and a dazzling throw triple loop. They struggled with the side by side combination triple Salchow- euler (downgraded)-double Salchow and then she fell on a long throw triple Salchow and they landed a somewhat shaky side by side triple toe. Their mesmerizing lifts garnered a level four as well as the pair combination and the death spiral and showed a wonderful chroreo sequence perfectly fitted to the original music. They managed 113.28 points for the Free Skating and 181.59 points overall to take the bronze medal. It's their second medal at the World Junior Championships as they achieved the silver in 2018. The Canadian pair won the Rhythm Dance with a strong routine and took 1.45 points to spare over Khurdaiberdieva/ Nazarov (RUS) who came in the second place. So close remained also Shevchenko/ Eremenko (RUS) in the third place as two more pairs stay in medal contention. March 7th, 2019 The fight for the medals is going to be so tight in the Free Dance as the first five couples are separated by less than five points. Marjorie Lajoie/ Zachary Lagha (CAN) took a narrow lead in the Rhythm Dance after a wonderful tango, followed by the three Russian pairs. Avonley Nguyen/ Vadym Kolesnik (USA), sitted in the fifth place, also have the chance to win a medal. Marjorie Lajoie/ Zachary Lagha (CAN) turned in a confident and beautiful dance to "Perro viejo", "Otro puente" and "Essa", performed by Otros Aires. They picked up a level four for their amazing twizzles sequence, the first Tango Argentino patterns and the wonderful and original rotational lift and a level three for the midline step sequence and the second Tango Argentino sequence. They surpassed their previous season's best of 66.25 points (registered at the Junior Grand Prix Final, where they were fourth) and obtained 70.14 points to capture the lead. Dancing to "Tango Amore", by Edvin Marton, they mesmerized right out of the gate. They collected a level four for the first Tango Argentino pattern and a level two for the second and produced a beautiful midline step sequence. They ended their intense tango with a wonderful and strong twizzles, which was graded a level four, and a fantastic rotational lift. Reigning Junior Grand Prix Final Champions Sofia Shevchenko/ Igor Eremenko (RUS) came in the third place on 67.56 points, just short of their season's best score. Their dance to "La Cumparsita" featured a great circular step sequence followed by a sparkling twizzles sequence. Their Tango Argentino patterns merited a level four and one and they finished with a amazing level-four straight line lift. They put in a passionate dance to "Libertango" and "Flamenco", highlighted by the solid twizzles and their incredible rotational lift. They picked up a level four for both elements and a level two for the first Tango Argentino pattern and the diagonal step sequence, but the second Tango Argentino sequence merited only a base level. Avonley Nguyen/ Vadym Kolesnik (USA) remained in the fifth place at 65.18 points. La pareja española de danza sobre hielo completó una potente actuación en la danza rítmica en su debut en el Mundial Junior. Sin embargo, se quedaron sin billete para la final por apenas 0.72 puntos. 7 de marzo, 2019 Quedarse fuera de una final siempre es una sensación triste, pero más en el caso de Sofía Val y Linus Colmor, que han visto como tan solo 0.72 puntos les separaron de la final en su primera participación en el Campeonato del Mundo Junior. El debut de la pareja española en el Mundial, en cualquier caso, ha si fantástico. Sofía Val y Linus Colmor presentaron un fluido y expresivo programa, acompañados por el tango "La chanson des vieux amants" y el flamenco "Farrucas". Comenzaron con una bonita secuencia de twizzles, que fueron valorados de nivel cuatro para ella y de nivel tres para él, seguida por las secuencias del Tango Argentino, la primera mereció un nivel dos, aunque la segunda fue considerada de nivel base. Cerca del final de su danza realizaron un precioso elevado en curva de nivel tres y cerraron con la secuencia de pasos midline, de nivel uno. Obtuvieron una puntuación de 46.22 puntos, muy cerca de su mejor marca personal de la temporada (47.57 puntos en el Bavarian Open) y acabaron en la vigésimo-primera posición, un puesto por debajo del corte de acceso a la final y a menos de un punto de los vigésimos clasificados. No ha podido ser la clasificación para la final mundialista, aunque ha sido una notable actuación para la pareja española en la que ha sido su segunda competición internacional como pareja. Marjorie Lajoie/ Zachary Lagha (CAN) consiguieron una ligera ventaja en la Danza Rítmica y finalizaron primeros con 70.14 puntos. En su tango destacaron los excelentes twizzles de nivel cuatro, una fantástica secuencia de pasos midline de nivel tres y el formidable elevado rotacional con el que culminaron su actuación. La primera secuencia del Tango Argentina fue de nivel cuatro, mientras que la segunda recibió un nivel dos. Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/ Nikita Nazarov (RUS) lograron la segunda mejor nota con 68.69 puntos. Consiguieron también el máximo nivel de dificultad en la primera secuencia del Tango Argentino, los sólidos twizzles y el elevado rotacional, mientras que la segunda secuencia del Tango Argentino y la secuencia de pasos midline fueron de nivel dos. Sofia Shevchenko/ Igor Eremenko (RUS), actuales campeones de la Final del Grand Prix Junior y campeones nacionales junior, acabaron en la tercera posición con 67.56 puntos. La pareja rusa logró un nivel cuatro para la excelente secuencia de twizzles, la primera secuencia del Tango Argentino y un precioso elevado en línea recta, mientras que la secuencia de pasos circular fue de nivel dos y la segunda secuencia del Tango Argentino recibió un nivel uno. Arina Ushakova/ Maxim Nekrasov (RUS) están en la cuarta posición, con 65.96 puntos, seguidos de cerca por Avonley Nguyen/ Vadym Kolesnik (USA), con 65.18 puntos. The Russian pairs swept the first places and poised for the medals. Kostiukovich/ Ialin took a slender lead over Panfilova/ Rylov and Mishina/ Galliamov. Tang/ Yang (CHN) remained off the podium by almost seven points. March 6th, 2019 The Russian pairs were the pre-competition favorites and rose to the occasion in the Short Program. The three couples are sitted in the top-3 and took a strong lead over their rivals. However, nothing is definitive until the Free Skating. Polina Kostiukovich/ Dmitrii Ialin (RUS) skated last and clinched the lead after a wonderful rotuine. Skating to epic "Survivor", from Tomb Raider, they opened with a huge triple twist, followed by a side by side double Axel and an excellent throw triple Salchow. They picked up a level four for the mesmerizing and difficult lift and a level three for the death spiral and ended they formidable program with an energetic step sequence and the level-four side by side spin. They obtained 68.31 points, recording a new season's best for themselves and also a new record score this season. Apollinariia Panfilova/ Dmitry Rylov (RUS) trail their teammates by just 0.40 points in the second place. They turned in a beautiful routine to "I put a spell on you", performed by Annie Lennox. They executed a high triple twist, a perfect throw triple Salchow and a great side by side double Axel in the first half of the program. They collected a level four for their wonderful lift, the great step sequence and the side by side spin, but their death spiral was graded a level two. They scored 67.91 points, a personal best score this season. Anastasia Mishina/ Aleksandr Galliamov (RUS) finished in the third place at 67.02 points. Skating to "Party like a Russian", by Robbie Williams, they executed an excellent triple twist, a wonderful throw triple Salchow and a great side by side double Axel. They managed all level fours for their formidable lift, a beautiful step sequence perfectly fitted to the music, the side by side spin and the death spiral. Feiyao Tang/ Yongchao Yang (CHN) remained in the fourth place at 60.77 points. Their routine to "Even more magma" featured a great triple twist, a side by side double Axel and a wonderful throw triple Salchow. They struggled on the side by side spin but picked up a level four for the lift. Laiken Lockley/ Keenan Prochnow (USA) came in fifth on 59.96 points. They turned in a lovely routine to "If I ain't got you", by Alicia Keys highlighted by a triple twist, a throw triple Salchow and three level four elements. The first sixteen pairs advanced to the Free Skating and only Letizia Roscher/ Luis Schuster (GER) did't reach the final. El patinador español buscaba acceder por primera vez a la final en su último Mundial Junior, aunque se quedó en la trigésimo-cuarta posición tras un programa corto marcado por el altísimo nivel de los participantes. 6 de marzo, 2019 Aleix Gabara se ha despedido esta tarde del Campeonato del Mundo Junior. En su cuarta participación en la competición, el patinador del FC Barcelona consiguió 47.53 puntos que no fueron suficientes para lograr el acceso a la final en su último Mundial, y acabó en la trigésimo-cuarta plaza. El patinador de 19 años arrancaba muy bien su programa bajo los acordes de "La Boheme", de Charles Aznavour, con una preciosa combinación triple Lutz-doble toe. Continuó con una elegante pirueta camel de nivel tres, pero acto seguido llegaron los dos fallos de su rutina. Dejó el triple flip en un salto doble, ligeramente penalizado además por no estar claro el eje, y acto seguido sufrió una caída en el doble Axel, al que además le faltó rotación. Completó su actuación con una fantástica secuencia de pasos de nivel tres, una buena pirueta baja de nivel tres y la pirueta combinada, que también alcanzó el nivel tres. Camden Pulkinen (USA) lidera la clasificación tras una completa y sólida actuación en la que destacaron la maravillosa combinación triple Lutz-triple toe y un excelente triple Axel, si bien tuvo una ligera penalización en el triple flip al no estar claro el eje. Tanto la secuencia de pasos como dos de sus piruetas alcanzaron el nivel cuatro. Pulkinen selló una nueva marca personal esta temporada con 82.41 puntos. Tomoki Hiwatashi (USA) finalizó segundo, a menos de un punto de distancia de su compatriota. El patinador estadounidense bordó todos sus saltos: el triple Axel, el triple flip y la combinación triple Lutz-triple toe y sus tres piruetas fueron valoradas de nivel cuatro, mientras que la secuencia de pasos fue de nivel tres. Obtuvo 81.50 puntos, su mejor puntuación de la temporada. Daniel Grassl (ITA) fue el último en patinar y le puso un gran broche al programa corto masculino. El patinador de 16 años completó un magnífico programa, realizando con soltura el triple flip y la combinación triple Lutz-triple toe, si bien se tambaleó ligeramente en la salida del triple Axel. Con una fantástica interpretación y expresividad, Grassl realizó una preciosa secuencia de pasos de nivel cuatro, así como tres originales piruetas de la máxima dificultad. Consiguió 81.19 puntos, ligeramente por debajo de su mejor nota esta temporada. Petr Gummenik (RUS) fue el mejor de los tres patinadores rusos y acabó en la cuarta posición con 80.33 puntos. Tuvo alguna dificultad con el primer salto, un triple Axel, pero completó con éxito el triple flip y una gran combinación triple Lutz-triple loop. Alexei Krasnozhon (USA) está quinto con 79.98 puntos. Luchó la salida de la combinación triple Lutz-triple loop y realizó un formidable triple Axel y un bonito triple Flip. Le sigue de cerca Roman Savosin (RUS), con 78.83 puntos. El patinador ruso realizó un sólido programa en el que destacaron el triple Axel y la combinación y alcanzó el nivel cuatro en todos sus elementos. Desde Joseph Phan (CAN), séptimo con 77.89 puntos hasta Irakli Maysuradze (GEO), que ocupa la undécima plaza con 76.46 puntos, todos los patinadores mantienen la opción a pelar por una medalla, lo que garantiza que el programa libre será igual o más emocionante aún.
